This well enclosure, shaped by nature, is located on the outskirts of the town among the quiet fields. The water flows through the porous ryukyuan limestone bedrock at the roots of the large gajumaru trees.
In the past it boasted a large amount of water, and was used by the local people for irrigation. Because the water was of good quality it was also used for drinking, and was an important part of the daily life of the people of the area.
Saga was designated as an important monument (historical remains) of Kin township on March 12, 1991.
